Highlight Reel: Josh Smith high school dunks
When Josh Smith was drafted into the NBA, straight out of high school, Jay Billas said that — of all the players in the 2004 NBA Draft — Smith was the most likely to be a bust. That’s high praise, as the draft also included Rafael Araujo, Robert Swift, Kirk Snyder, and Sebastian Telfair… and those are only the players drafted BEFORE Smith was named the 17th pick.
When Bilas made his claim, he must have had limited information. For instance, he mustn’t have known that Araujo had no discernible skill, or that Swift was at his best when getting tattoo ink.
Bilas also mustn’t have seen this tape of Josh Smith’s high school highlights from an All-Star game. The last dunk is obscene.
