Visit our forums, damn it!

If you like going to this place, you should probably be posting in our forums.

So we’ve actually had forums for about six months. But thanks to me being the Patrick O’Bryant of computer programming, they stopped working for a long time. The forums page had simply been a blank web page with nothing on it. Interesting, eh? Exactly how you want forums to look, right?

But I got on my grind, miraculously figured out what was wrong and fixed it. So if you want to talk about Paul Pierce’s facial hair, Josh Howard’s love of marijuana, Tony Allen’s new home or what you would do if you were Danny Ainge, the Celtics Town forums are the place for you. And the best thing about them? They actually work now.

So check them out (just click on the link at the top of our website), go bananas with your thoughts, and make the Celtics Town forums the number one spot for online Celtics discussion. Or else I’m going to send Clifford Ray after you. And believe me, you don’t want Clifford Ray after you.

Reason #1,287,326 why I’m an embarrassment

You wanna know when you have no friends? When you have more Facebook friends for your website than you do for yourself… and you still don’t have very many friends for your website.

Look, we only have 441 fans, but there are 3,000+ people reading this blog every day. Don’t a few more of you have Facebook? Don’t a few more of you want to be our friend? Just click the link below, whether you want to or not. It’ll keep me from crying. And tell all your friends to become our fan too: I’m sure you have more than I do.

While I’m whining and crying for fans, follow us on Twitter too. If I get to 2,000 Twitter followers by the end of the week, I don’t know what I’ll give to that 2,000th follower. But it’ll be something cool.

Thank you, kind readers

Thank you all. We started this site about nine months ago, and I used to get excited when we had 15 or 20 visitors a day. Now we’re up to 3,000 visitors a day and growing every day. I thank all you guys for reading our stuff and making that happen. Without your support, I don’t know if I’d even keep on writing. But I love writing, and I love that some of you might even care about what I have to say.

Stay strong, guys. This is a tough time. I know how bad this hurts, losing the championship and heading into an offseason of uncertainty. Plus, now we have to watch only baseball highlights and Lebron talk every day on SportsCenter. This is undoubtedly the worst time of the year. No basketball in sight.

But that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop writing. We’ll be giving the same coverage as we always do, except we might expand it to cover a little more of the NBA. Even though this summer promises to be busy with changes, there’s only so much Celtics news you can cover in the offseason.

So keep coming back, tell all your friends about the site, and let me know if you have any suggestions to help us get better. And, again, thanks. It was one hell of a season.

Maintenance: Changing our comments settings

Just wanted to alert everybody that we have changed the comments settings for our blog.  We had previously moved to Intense Debate comments, because it offered more than the normal WordPress settings.  However, since the change — and despite our traffic getting higher — the number of comments had gone way down.  So we did the natural thing: We switched back.

Hopefully, the change will encourage more comments.  We love to hear all your opinions, both about the Celtics and the way we run our site.

We look forward to seeing more and more comments in the future.

Vacation Alert: Be back tomorrow night

Since I started Celtics Town, I’m pretty sure I’ve posted at least one column or blog post every single day. I’ve been pretty dedicated to bringing our readers as much Celtics-related reading as I can, and to improving my site in an attempt to become one of the better Celtics blogs on the internet.

Contribute to our user-generated blog

Now you, the readers, can join us in writing for Celtics Town.

If you’ve ever wanted to contribute to a Celtics blog, here is your chance. We here at Celtics Town have decided to start a strictly user-generated blog within our website, and are very excited about this new feature.

With it, you will be able to post your own articles, posts, or columns… and you can do it all with the same controls that our columnists use.

Furthermore, you will be afforded the potential opportunity to see your article or post featured on our home page. If it is a good enough post, we will change it to a Featured article and you will see your article along with our featured columnists.

All you have to write an article is sign in to your Celtics Town account (or create one here), and you will instantly be able to create a blog post.

We hope you enjoy the new feature.
